Information on Attendance
Excellent attendance promotes excellent learning.
Regular school attendance is essential if children are to achieve their full potential. At New Hartley First School we believe that regular school attendance is crucial to allowing children to maximise the educational opportunities available to them and become emotionally resilient, confident and competent adults who are able to realise their full potential and make a positive contribution to their community.
The Government's aim is to reduce the absence of children from school. We are supportive of this policy as it is important that children miss as little schooling as possible to ensure their best progress. As part of the government scheme we are required to reduce the absences of children, both authorised and unauthorised.
If your child is absent for any reason it is important to inform the school as soon as possible. If your child is ill please ensure you send a message via the school app or a telephone call to the office by 9.00am.
New Hartley First School values all pupils and we will work with families to early identify the reasons for poor attendance and try to resolve any difficulties.

As few as 19 days lost over a year can significantly reduce your child's progress and achievement at school. Please ensure that your child attends school every day!
